Can I donate anonymously?

Yes. During the donation process, you’ll be able to check a box that will make a donation anonymous.

Are donations tax deductible?

Only donations to a registered 501c3 are tax deductible. KAPWANY is a registered 501c3 so it is likely that your donation is tax deductible, especially if the donation recipient is an individual or family.

Warning: In order to legally qualify for a tax deduction, your property must be deeded to a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Beware that some low cost donation options may be skipping this step to keep their costs down. While this may seem like a bargain at first, it could lead to a very expensive audit. Our tax ID number is 32-0262724 and our status can be verified with the IRS.

How does the donation process work?

The donation process is simple, safe, and easy. Just click the button donate on this site and enter the amount of your pledge then submit your contact information and we’ll contact you with the details. It just takes seconds to get started.

What about international donations?

Our payment processor, PayPal, accepts international credit cards, so your donation will be accepted. KAPWANY have a valid US Social Security Number and US located bank account. So you donation is safe with us.

Do I need and account to make a donation?

Upon checkout you will ask to enter your name and create account to make a donation. We’ve timed it, and you can make a donation on KAPWANY in less than 30 seconds. If you beat the 30 second mark, we recommend bragging to all your friends about how fast you type. We do encourage you to create an account mostly because someone told us to.

How do I make and hide my name from the public fundraiser page?

When you’re ready to make a donation, click the “DONATE” button and then select the “Hide name on backers list? in the Checkout Page” checkbox. Your donation will show up on the KAPWANY website under the name “Anonymous.” Your information is shared with the fundraiser, charity and/or event organizer but is hiddden from the public campaign page.

Is my donation secure?

This will sound really official because we know how important it is. KAPWANY processes donations through PayPal. PayPal is PCI Level 1 Compliant and they offer best in class security.

What is my tax credit?

our tax credit is the money you can claim back from the Government for donations you’ve made to KAPWANY during a particular tax year. You get 33.3 per cent or one-third back of the total you donated. To claim your tax credit, you will need an annual tax certificate from KAPWANY. Please note: You can’t claim a tax credit for any charitable donations you’ve made through payroll giving at your workplace.

Why do I need an annual tax certificate?

With your annual tax certificate, you can claim a 33.3 per cent tax credit on your annual charitable giving to KAPWANY. Your tax certificate will show your donation total for the financial year. There is no limit on the amount for which you may submit a tax credit claim. In 2008, the Government removed the cap on the tax-deductible amount you’re allowed to claim. The five per cent maximum limit for companies was also removed, so they, too, are able to claim a tax deduction for donations up to the level of their annual net income.
